History of Double C

Double C Productions' home office is located in Phoenix, Arizona and has over 46 years of experience in the Team Roping Industry. The main goal of Double C Productions is to produce and promote ropings that emphasizes honesty, adaptable, and above all the highest quality.

In 1998 Chad and Cody Willson had a vision of ropings that would cater to the demands of the local ropers. We wanted to produce ropings that would start on time, run efficiently and create a management team that would be open minded and flexible to the demands of the ropers. We saw a opportunity to produce high-quality, well-managed team ropings in the Phoenix, Arizona area focusing on the local roping concept.

The management team of has taken no chances and surrounded itself with some of the best staff available. Which contributes a huge amount of their success to the efficient, skilled, fast, and courteous staff. Double C's cattle contract is fulfilled by Wild Bill Plummer, Bill and his crew culls the cattle before the event and during the event to ensure a even and appropriate herd of cattle to fit the ropers. At a Double C roping you will find that our philosophy is not to create a horse race. We will run a good set of medium runners behind a short barrier, to ensure everyone will have a fair chance to compete. When you attend our roping you will find the highest in service and integrity. The roper will benefit from great payoffs and the first class prizes. Producer Chad Willson says "We at Double C take great pride in giving away top-of -the line, high quality prizes. We take great pride in seeing our prizes at future events getting used not sitting in a closet."

Over the past eight years through the use of great management skills, the ability to be open-minded and flexible, Double C ropings have become a place to attend when ropers are in the Valley of the Sun. If you have not attended a Double C roping, we invite you to come out and experience what all the talk is about in the valley of the sun, and experience our roping first hand!

Office Manager
Abby Willson, 19, is the cousin of Chad and Cody Willson. She has been an integral part of Double C Roping Productions since the very beginning, Abby has made her way up the ranks from concession girl working the cattle ... now she proudly works the office and registration, where she will always greet you with a smile; she is still waiting for some microphone time (that is the next promotion!) Abby is a full time college student at Scottsdale Community College and working towards her degree in business management.
President
Chad Willson, 31 started Double C Productions with his brother Cody. He has been rodeoing since he was 5 years old. He started in the Arizona Junior Rodeo Association and competed in college for both Scottsdale Community College and Arizona Sate University. He graduated from ASU with a bachelor's degree in Global Business. He has followed the professional rodeo circuit for four years before being hired as a firefighter for the Phoenix Fire Department. He loves to be able to provide a service for the community, either responding to the emergencies in the valley or producing professional run ropings at people can bring their family too and enjoy.

Vice President
Cody Willson, 29 is the other half of Double C. He has been riding horses before he could walk. He has been rodeoing since he was five years old. He got his start in rodeo at the junior rodeo level and progress up the ranks. He has competed for Scottsdale Community College and was the 1997 National Finals Champion Team Roper at the college level. After his college days Cody turned pro and is still competing on the professional rodeo circuit. He started putting ropings on because he saw a need for good professionally run weekend ropings. He takes great pride in providing a fun, enjoyable atmosphere for the ropers when they are in the valley of the sun.
